The 1st and the 2nd resurrection
Rev. 21,1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev. 21,9 Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” Rev.21,10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,
The New Jerusalem are Christians who come back to the purified earth.
Rev.20,4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.
This is the first resurrection.
These Christians encounter us in revelation as the 144,000 Rev.7 + 14. They receive a spiritual body, and are now on the purified earth
1.Corin.15,44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
Rev.20,6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
The second resurrection follows
Rev.20,11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.
These „dead“ are not Christians, because they sit on thrones, but died people of all times, who did not know Jesus, or could not get to know because they lived before the birth of Jesus, or in Countries where the good news was not preached. They are not saved by faith, but judged according to their deeds.
Rev.20,13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
Rev.20,14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
The second resurrection is in the flesh. It is the nations that are ruled by the Christians who sit on the thrones with Jesus Christ, who is king of kings, in the 1000 years.
Rev.22,1 Then the angel1 showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life2 with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
At the end of the 1000 years comes the test for the Risen of the Second Resurrection.
Rev.20,7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9 And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven2 and consumed them, 10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
